What this tool does

It gives you a quick read on how your writing comes across, looking at things like sentence length, word choice, tone, pace and how easy it is to follow. You paste in a sample, and you get a short write up pointing out what is working and what could be sharper.

The idea is to show you patterns you might not spot yourself, such as leaning too hard on long sentences, slipping into a formal tone when you want to sound warm, or burying your main point halfway down the paragraph.

Who it is for

It is aimed at anyone who writes and wants a second opinion before sending, publishing or handing something in. That might be a novelist checking the rhythm of a chapter, a student tidying up an essay, a blogger shaping a post, or someone drafting a cover letter or formal complaint and wanting to sound clear without being stiff.

You do not need a writing background to use it. If you can put a few sentences together and you care about how they land with a reader, it will be useful.

How it works

Paste a paragraph or two into the box, around 100 to 500 words works best, and submit it. You will get a plain English summary covering style, tone, readability and structure, along with a few practical suggestions you can act on straight away. Nothing you paste in is saved, and you can run as many samples through as you like.
